To Be Grateful

"It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His mercy, to implore His protection and favor... That great and beneficent author of all good that was, that is, or ever shall be, that we may then unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people." --George Washington

"It is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth -- and listen to the song of that siren, till she transforms us into beasts. ... For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it might cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it." --Patrick Henry

I say a hearty AMEN to that, Marcie. I posted Abraham Lincoln's Thanksgiving Proclamation a few days ago...very similar sentiments...those men certainly knew that our Creator was the giver of all good things, and not the government!

Have a beautiful Thanksgiving!
