What Are These Things???

I got these at an estate sale over a year ago, and I haven't been able to find out what they are. I wonder if any of you might know. The wood is a hardwood, and they are heavy, with a hole in each. Something to do with theaters?????

I was going to say they look like some kind of weights, but to what I haven't a clue. Perhaps, as you thought, they are related to curtains on a theater set - being numbered would make sense. 'Lower one, raise two, etc. '

They sure are interesting looking. Hopefully someone else will have more information.

Hmm... I tend to agree about the theater curtain weights, though I'm not positive. They are really cool! What do you think you'll use them for?

Blessings... Polly (p.s. love the post about your husband. mine is the same way. he's a gift in himself!)

Weights is a good one. Some kind spools maybe? Vintage wooden things are so cool. I have a basketful of wooden spools, not sure what I will do with them but I like the conversation pieces.

Linda

Thank you all for your comments! I haven't given up. I'm too curious for my own good. Another thing I was thinking,,,there used to be cotton mills that closed here, and I know thats a strech, but maby they were part of that operation..humm..well, I will be sure to let you know if I find out.
