Winter is the Promise of Spring

The older I get the faster December comes around. We started it with a heavy frost this morning. In this climate the seasons turn faster than in Oregon....more defined. It is a cool sunny day, and I am glad for the light. I am a cold weather person, and love this time of year. Allot of things to do,,and grateful to have another day to get it right. I don't remember where I heard the saying, "Winter is the promise of Spring", but I have always liked it,,,,it says "Hope" to me. Have good thoughts today my friends.

  1. Isn't that so the truth, Marcie!? When I was a kid a year was an eternity and now the years fly by as though just a day.

  5. As the flowers fade, the seeds mingle with the earth, softly blanketed by the falling leaves, as the gentle snows nurture them for rebirth in the
    spring. (written by me)

  7. I live in Missouri and have been complaining about our shortened days here. Then I read a blog from my Finland friend and they only get about 2 hours of daylight this season. That made me appreciate MO alittle more. It's still a gloomy time of year so thank God for Christmas! I agree with the passing of time going so fast now adays. I still feel like a kid at hear. Blessings~Stacey

  9. Be so happy that you are a cold weather person and love this time of year. I'm not. ,-)

I prefer my cold weather, and snow and etc. ~~ be confined to gazing at it, out a window... While I'm snug and warm inside.

But of course, it doesn't always "work that way." :-))))

  10. Oh that's a wonderful saying! And one I will have to cling to to get thru the miserable Chicago winters here!! So far it's not too bad, but Jan/Feb are brutal...the promise of spring is such a lovely thought :)

  11. I can appreciate the beauty that that some of the winters days can bring. Me, I just would rather be in a tropical climate. Since that is not going to happen I will hold on to the expression that "winter is the promise of spring." It a promise that has never been broken.

Thank you for visiting and taking the time to leave all those nice comments on the different posts. You made my day!

  12. Beautiful thoughts! I like the "hope" of spring in winter. We are just beginning to get into really cold weather here. I am a mild weather person. I think I will hold onto those warm spring thoughts.

  14. What a wonderful saying. I shall remember that. I though you would like to know it is 32 and dropping fast here tonight. A mention of the white stuff by morning. Sunny today but oh so cold in the twenty's this morning. Brrrrr. Take care Sharon
