White Mini Carnations Do Not Give Up Easily

MOstly my favorite flower is the Carnation, in "white" with baby's breath. The mini size seems to have the best scent, and they last a long time...I have had these since Valentines.
I have been cutting the stems each day and giving them fresh water. As the blooms started to show brown, I cut them and let them dry on the fridge in a box lid. A crocheted collar helps of course. They were a 16" arrangement, now, half that size, but I am still sniffing them to the bitter end. Soon I will have a dried flowers to play with. They do not give up pleasing me.

  1. That is nice! Funny how life can be so busy that we (or I ) forget some simple pleasures - like fresh flowers.

  2. They have always been my favorites too. My husband used to buy me them on his way home from work on Fridays. they don't sell them on the corner anymore and it has been a while since I received any. Next to the Stargazer Lilly (love their scent too) I would gladly have carnations!
They look so lovely there in the green (glass?) container. So beautiful even now!

  4. The flowers are so pretty, even the little brown ones. I used to dry little roses and all kinds of other flowers. Flowers keep us happy when they are at their peak of freshness and even in death. Aren't they wonderful.
Thanks for sharing and have a lovely day!
    Smiles,
