Parade

It was a beautiful day for The Veterans Day Parade. People came out in droves to enjoy it. My husbands boss kicked him out of the office to go, as he is the only Veteran. We were also treated to lunch. It was a nice honor and surprise. This very much a military community, and watching the marching soldiers brought tears to my eyes. Thank you to all the Veterans and their families everywhere, for your sacrifices, duty, and love of our country.

I am also embarrassed that our US Army soldier makes only 22 thousand a year.
Average American makes around 50
Average congressman makes around 75
Average federal employee makes around 174
Congress should also go to VA medical centers....and definitely not make more than our front line servicemen.

  2. I agree that it is shameful what we pay our service men and women! And representatives should make no more than what our service folks make!

  4. Hello dear sweet Marcie,

What a wonderful post and tribute to our Veterans! The photos are beautiful and I am so glad your husband was told to leave work and enjoy the parade, and that you both were treated to lunch! I thank the Veterans and their families too, for their sacrifices, duty and love of our country! Beautifully expressed dear Marcie!

I agree our servicemen should make as much money as the other government employees do!!!

Have a beautiful Sunday! Love you, Paula

  6. What a lovely post. Thank your husband for his service. I agree, the men and women who do the dirty work should be put on a higher pedestal and paid considerably more for what they do for us all.

  7. I love those Glenn Beck lessons on 'issues in our country we'd never know otherwise'. It is sinful the way our military personnel are treated in so many ways, pay included.

To boot our $174,000 elected US government employees get PERKS that take them close to $500,000 a year each.

So glad you had a lovely boss who recognized your husband & treated him so beautifully.

    Have a great week!

  10. Marcie....dear one thank you for dropping by and "getting my buns in gear" to stop in and post on my friends blogs too.

I say AMEN to that too about the pay of the general population of the military....my granddaughter has been to Iraq and came back safely...THANK GOD..and she is very underpaid as well...she has been in the military for over seven years now.
Tell your husband THANKS for us.

Also another VERY undpaid community are most of our teachers. Especially our Special Education teachers...of which my daughter is one...NO one works harder in her school to make sure "her kids" get the lessons they need to be able to cope.... in their adult lives.
She spends so many after hours in her classroom just getting it ready for the next day, etc....I told her she should have a FOLD UP bed installed.

GOD BLESSED AMERICA...in the last midterm election.
(As the current administration has screwed it up SO VERY BADLY )
I hope our new congressmen can help get it out of the DEEP hole we are in.
WE ARE NOT TOO BIG TO GO UNDER...ROME DID !!!
